Record Breakers And Other Monsters
While a massive oil spill, the Tea Party and 33 tough copper miners in Chile might all well serve as a giant bookmark for the year 2010, anglers made a bit of history, too. Here are three fish stories to remember.

Record Blue CatRecord Blue Cat
In July, Greg Bernal of Florissant, Missouri, while fishing the Missouri River with his girlfriend Janet Momphard, boated a world-record 130-pound blue catfish as a massive lightning storm approached the area. The beast measured 57 inches with a 45-inch girth, and topped the previous record by 6 pounds.

Monster Brown Trout Monster Brown Trout
While fishing the Salmon-A-Rama fishing derby on Lake Michigan out of Racine, Wisconsin, last summer, angler Roger Hellen of Yorkville, caught this 41-pound, 8-ounce bruiser brown trout. The monster beat the previous record, caught in Michigan less than a year earlier, by 1 ounce.

Massive BassMassive Bass
This 16.08-pound behemoth was caught by angler Jerry Bales of Hico, Texas. Impressive alright, but the real story is that it was just one of 12 trophy bass caught on H.O. Ivie Reservoir last year that qualified for the state's prestigious ShareLunker program. That's called a Hot Streak!
