Our New Favorite Bait Container
It's not often that a bait container comes along that really impresses us.
Fact is, there's nothing worse than spending a lot of time (or money) on nightcrawlers only to have them turned into a noxious stew of sun-baked sludge.
Sure, Styrofoam containers are the right price, but given the often hilarious choreography of playing and netting fish, they're usually crushed by boots and derrières. And when emptied of their contents, they practically levitate, ending up as unwanted litter in our waterways.
Frabill's Crawler Can is a long overdue remedy to these problems—a whole other can of worms—just check out this video.
Don't forget that fresh live bait is the best bait. Fishing legends like Gary Roach have been preaching that for decades. And ace fishing guide Tom Neustrom puts it bluntly: "To fish with inferior live bait is like bow-hunting with twigs."
Did we mention that it works equally well with leeches, minnows and a lot of other types of live bait? With a watertight screw-lid compartment on each side, you can mix and match — 'crawlers on one side, leeches on the other — or any combo you can dream up.
Double thumbs up.
