A Six-Inch Whale That Catches Fish

SkippyFish

Soft swimbaits are obviously everywhere in bassin' these days. We've seen 'em all, and a lot of 'em look and act the same.

But we just got a firsthand look at one that brings something new to the table: the SkippyFish.

The bait's tail section is much longer than those of the masses and it's vertically flattened—narrow on top and bottom, with tall sides. And rather than the standard split- or paddle-tail, the SkippyFish has a horizontally positioned whale tail.

The result is an action that's actually different from all the others—more subtle shimmy and less throbbing kick. And in pressured waters where fish have seen it all, that could mean more fish in the box.
