Best Fishing Reel Ever Built?
 |
| |
Even if you didn't actually get to fish one of the classic Mitchell spinning reels, as a kid, chances are that you've still got the one your dad or grandpa fished tucked away in a special tackle box somewhere.
Millions of 'em were sold in the U.S., and an army of anglers considered it the best fishing reel ever built. But only one, Wallace Carney, has made the icon his life's work. Carney operates the Mitchell Reel Museum, a virtual shrine to everything Mitchell from Day 1 to the present. He features excellent photography of classic reels, a collection of old-time magazine ads, plus much more.
There are a number of websites devoted to Mitchell reels as they're highly prized among collectors. What's you granddad's old 300 worth on the open market? There's one way to find out.
