Video: Giant Trout that Snacks on Muskrats
 |
| |
The locals call 'em "river wolves." They devour muskrats, squirrels, ducks and fish the size you'd hang on your wall. They're toothy, fast and deadly. And they're trout—the world's largest trout.
Imagine traveling across Mongolia in hot pursuit of trout that grow to 60 inches and bigger—and live 50-plus years! Now imagine fishing these monsters with standard freshwater fly gear. Sound insane? It is!
Check out this clip from full-length DVD Fish Bum Volume 1: Mongolia and you may just get your passport renewed! The self-described "fish bums" of AEG Media spent an exhausting 62 days in Russian military vehicles, souped-up jeeps, and riding ornery, spittin' camels through harsh conditions to reach cherry, un-fished monster taimen waters.
Watch as these hardcores pound banks and fast water with giant yak-hair creations tied on site and streamers more suited to saltwater! The fish are freakishly big and drop-dead gorgeous, mottled with hues of yellow, red and blue. Truly outstanding! A must-see!
