Sick Video: Bass—The Movie
The problem with full-length fishing films is that they're typically created by and for fluff-chuckers... No offense, we love fly fishing—but we're tired of largemouth bass playing the red-headed stepchild to trout, tarpon, bonefish and such—species that get more camera time than Katy Perry.
So, when we heard about Bass: The Movie we were floored. Finally, we thought, some fishing filmmaker's got the stones to do something different. Enter Jamie Howard and HowardFilms.
Shot somewhere in California's big bass country, Bass—The Movie is chock-full of trophy bass behaving like they've never seen a lure, crushing frogs and bunny flies with prehistoric rage.
Yep, it does contain some fluff-chucking, but there's lots of froggin', too. In fact, what started out as competition between a pro fly rodder and pro bass stick in Howard's Bass Eden has developed into a deadly team that plays off each other's strengths. Can you feel the love? But seriously, who catches more fish? Well, you'll have to watch and find out.
Finally, a bass movie that'll give the camera toting trout bums a run for their mise-en-scène. |
