Be A Patriotic Angler
July 4th
The 4th of July is just around the corner, so we encourage you to think about how you can be a patriotic angler. For starters, fly the American flag proudly at your home and on your boat, and let those around you know how you and your family cherish our freedoms.

Take time to think about the words of our Founding Fathers by reflecting on the Declaration Of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. Spend some time actually reading these documents. After all, 7th Grade was a long time ago.

Then take a few more minutes and write a letter or put together a care package for a soldier thanking them for defending these freedoms. Not sure where to send it? Learn about organizations that can help.

Likewise, take time to thank a veteran for his/her service, greet a deploying or returning soldier at the airport—even give up your first-class seat to a serviceman and woman if there's one on your flight.

If possible, take a veteran or active duty soldier fishing. You can also get involved with projects that put vets and servicemen on the water like Wounded Warrior or Project Healing Waters.

Of course, July 4th is also a good time to enjoy the sun and do some grilling with friends and family. Just make sure to talk about what it means to be an American and remember the great sacrifices that have given us all the freedom to celebrate the holiday!
